At Lean In Leeds we decided it was high time that we celebrated the incredible women in the Yorkshire region with our own Awards.
Our vision was to do something a little bit different than the other awards ceremonies out there. We want to shine a light on women at all ages and stages, especially those who aren't typically involved in conventional awards ceremonies.
We're lucky that this vision has been both shared and supported by the wonderful sponsors we've been able to partner with, and we're also delighted to be raising money
for Smart Works, a charity completely aligned with our vision.
Lean in Leeds has been going for over 7 years, and we have over 1100 members of our community. We've run over 60 free events in Leeds and the surrounding areas, have a thriving mentoring scheme and are run entirely by volunteers. We welcome anybody who supports our primary focus of gender equality.

Smart Works Leeds supports unemployed women across Yorkshire from a range of different backgrounds and age groups back into employment by providing coaching so they feel more confident and start believing in their own ability to succeed.
We also provide high-quality interview-appropriate clothing, shoes, and accessories (theirs to keep) to wear for their job interview, and high-quality work-appropriate clothing, shoes and accessories when they get the job.
The time our clients spend with us can be transformative. We give women the confidence, the self-belief, and the practical tools they require to succeed in securing a job and start a new chapter in their life. 71% of women go on to gain employment within a month of accessing the service.
